- As simple as it sounds, students run for a period of time working on their cardiovascular endurance.
- Both a game and fitness Barkers Hoopla is a fast paced team activity in which students steal bean bags from other hula hoops and bring it back to their own hoop. The set up of the game involves five different hula hoops placed in the gym. Four of those hula hoops are placed at each corner of the gym and one hula hoop in the middle. Each hula hoop can have anywhere from 5-10 bean bags as long as each hoop has the same amount of bean bags. The game will begin after every player from each team has his/her foot on their teams hula hoop. After a designated amount of time the activity is stopped and a team is declared a winner. The activity is reset and the team with the most bean bags moves to the middle position. The activity starts again once all teams players have at least one foot on their team's hoop. Students may run, jog, or do any locomotor movement chosen. One modification is to have students try to get rid of all the bean bags in their hoop, instead of stealing from other hoops. *NOTE: students may only take one bean bag at a time, cannot guard their hoop, must place the bean bag in their hoop (no shooting it from six feet away), and cannot pass it to a teammate.
